I am not taking students for 2023/2024 entry. I will consider taking students with their own funding (e.g. NSERC scholarships or similar) for 2024/2025.
I am interested in working with BIPOC and LGBTQ2+ students and strive to form a supportive and uplifting research environment. I am interested in working with Indigenous students and would be curious to engage in two-eyed seeing research.
I am interested in working with students from other departments if you have a co-supervisor identified.
Students must have at the very least a minor in Statistics or equivalent if entering a Master's program or an MSc in Statistics or equivalent if entering a doctoral program. If you are interested in working with me, please email me at lcowen (a t) uvic.ca and include 1) Your CV 2) Your unofficial transcripts 3) A brief statement outlining why you want to join us.
I have some interesting projects suitable for undergraduate students. If you are a strong upper-level undergraduate student looking for research opportunities, come talk to me!
